Hello, my name is Lynne and I just finished my second year of undergraduate studies at Duke University. I am a Biomedical Engineering major on the Pre-medicine track and hope to graduate with a distinction in Music Performance. That’s quite a mouthful, so I guess it’s a round-a-bout way of saying I love both arts and sciences.

This summer (2013), I am spending 8 weeks in Belfast, Northern Ireland as part of the DukeEngage Northern Ireland program. I am exploring the culture here and will be working with an NGO that is focused on helping community members and victims of The Troubles with stress management, health, and well-being. I hope that the experiences this summer will help me to better understand long-persisting conflicts in the world and shed some insight into the enigmatic human nature. I am also very excited to meet and make lots of new friends.

My favorite animal is sheep, so I hope that I will be able to interact with many of them while I am in Northern Ireland. I also love nature and am excited to be able to enjoy NI’s green rolling hills and beautiful scenery. I hope to visit some mountains, the seaside, castles, and many more locations.

Thank you for joining me here on my blog and I hope that you enjoy following me on my Sheeptastic adventures through the beautiful and wonderful Northern Ireland.

Lynne, it sounds like you’re having a great time while learning about the Irish! Your pictures are beautiful and really are a story unto themselves. Have you had the chance to visit any of the “Ennis..” villages in N. Ireland? Oh, one comment on the “If men had to give birth…” I was thinking more along the lines of humans going extinct because men wouldn’t be able to stand the pain! 🙂
